The scale crystals that form in water have a positive (+) charge due to the influence of calcium, magnesium, silica, and other substances, and they adhere to interfaces (such as the inner walls of pipes) with negatively (-) charged water, causing them to grow. The "Scale Watcher" crystallizes these scale crystals into smaller particles. As the single crystallization progresses, the negatively (-) charged crystals are repelled by the interface, preventing adhesion, and the scale that has become fixed is also detached due to the repulsive forces between the scale crystals. We would like to introduce a case study on the effectiveness of the water treatment device "Scale Watcher" in public facilities. Three units of this product were installed in the No. 2 furnace with a capacity of 300t/D. The caustic soda injection rate was 200-250 liters/hour at a concentration of 48%, the Sox emission level was 70-80 ppm/Nm3, and the pH value of the lower circulation water was 8-9 pH. There was a softening and detachment effect on the scale in the desulfurization tower shower line. Additionally, there was a reduction in system downtime due to scale softening.
